Velvet Underworld

This looks like it could be an interesting anime (don't know when it starts).

The story occurs in Tokyo, Uruyu Tomoe is a new fresh detective who was seriously injured after becoming involved in a messy affair. The mysterious girl named Velvet rescued him and he survived, miraculously recovering. In an operation his left hand was replaced with an artificial one. His past memory before the time of his incident remains hazy. He was robbed of everything and the names of thirteen murderers who attacked him were engraved in his skin at that time. Tomoe is recruited as an underworld executioner by Velvet and inherited the legendary assassin's code name, Aya.

Let's see... an anime by Takehito Koyasu and there's a legendary assassin known as Aya. GEE! I WONDER WHO THAT PERSON IS?!

And lets not forget that 'Velvet Underworld' was the first OP to 'Weiss Kreuz' (I totally haven't been playing it non-stop).

I realize this more than likely takes place in a distant future where Aya is already dead but the plot still sounds pretty cool.

We do need a Takatori. Omi and his father were the only nice ones out of the bunch so it makes sense they'd be evil again in the future.

I don't know if I'd consider Omi or Shuichi Takatori to be "nice." If you consider Gluhen, Omi ended up in the Persia role and sorta lost that cute kid thing he had going, and Shuichi... I mean, he's really a bastard if you think about it. He took a very young kid who he thought (until right before he died) was his nephew and turned him into an assassin, and then picked the rest of the team to complement him to stop Reiji's reign of terror. But he knew full well he was forming a team by choosing people who had grudges against Reiji and that even more innocent people would get caught in the middle of both sides clashing, nevermind the deaths of the people working for his agency.

As much as I hate Ouka, she was by far the "nicest" of the Takatori.

Well... they were nice to the point where they weren't involved in crimes. And I agree with you about Shuichi, he really did to some not-so-nice things and his motives were definitely selfish but I think he was in the long run trying to do the right thing.

As for Ouka, I also don't like her but yeah she's the 'nicest' out of them.

I vote for Ouka's mommy. The worst she is is a homewrecker. Then again, that means she's not really a Takatori. Maybe Omi's mommy? Oh wait, she slept with her scum-husband's brother... O_O
