Oh dear God

There's a show in Canada called Canada's Worst Drivers. What it does is take 8 of the worst drivers in Canada and send them to a Driver Rehab place where they get put through a series of driving tests and at the end of each episode the most improve driver gets to graduate (in theory, there have been eps before where no one got to leave).

Season 2 started tonight and the 8 people this time have a combined 76 serious accidents. Among the drivers we have a man who pretty much refuses to drive with his hands (in one hand he's always on his cell and in the other he's usually smoking or eating something) who once drove through the front window of an department store, a woman who has owned 5 cars in her life and has totalled all of them 3-6 months after getting them (seriously hitting things with her car is fun for her and she admits it!), a man who only went on the show to "prove" that driving "slow" (aka the speed limit) is dangerous and a woman who gets so worked up while driving she can't remember what a green light means (my early pick for the "winner").

Unfortunately 2 of the 8 also happen to live within 20 minutes of me (can't say I'm surprised and I've probably come across both of them a few times); one of which goes to college 15 mins away from me and 2 mins away from my aunt. The course he's in...to become a police officer! I don't even know how he got his license as he had to go through the same insanely annoying system I went through (1 written test, drivers ed and 2 road tests), all of which takes at least 2 years to fully complete since you have to wait a year between tests. Hehe, the cop on the show who is one of the instructors/judges called him a maniac and he didn't even get halfway through the obstacle course as he got his car stuck on some object he knocked over.

I'm not sure if I should be highly amused that two people so close to me ended up on the show or mortified!

Hehe, I'm making notes on their cars and license plates so that if I ever see them I know to get out of their way. :P
