Bettas

I'm becoming very frustrated lately with my Betta situation.

Recap: Ever since Merlin died last March I've been having trouble keeping bettas alive in his old tank (Aragorn died after 6 months and Claude after 2 months). So I threw everything out and a few days ago bought all new things.

Well...due to a malfuncution heater New Betta #1 (Seymour) was dead the next day. Okay, no problem, I thought, went back to the store and bought a new one. Then, New Betta #2 (Jack) died today after getting him on Monday. >_<

Checked his water, ph was fine, the temp was fine, Dopey and Chaos are still fine and they're both coming their year anniversary (Dopey's is this month, Chaos is next month). I've owned bettas for 5 years and never had this problem before! I'm starting to go mad!

So now I have New Betta #3 (bought at a different store from the last two and the same store where I got Dopey and Chaos last year). At this point, I'll be happy if he lives a week.

Aww, well, unfortunately a lot of the times the fish have health problems before you even bring them home. It was a good idea to buy from a different store this time since some stores seem to have unhealthier fish (I've noticed this too).

I'm down to 2 bettas now, Bakura and Cha Sao. Hard to keep them someplace cold (I don't have a heater for the tanks, but I keep them in my bedroom which is the warmest room of the house)

Aww, poor wifey, losing her fishies. :( Have you ever thought that maybe your puppy's been harrassing them when you weren't looking? You know, barking and scaring them, bumping the tank, etc.? If you had a cat I'd say that was the problem right away, but dogs do that sometimes too...
