1. Are you a child of the 70s, 80s, or 90s?
80s and 90s. I was born in '82 so I remember a lot of the 80s. Mid-80s to mid-90s I did most of my growing up.
2. Where were you born?
Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. During the middle of a blizzard too. My mom's doctor had to stay at the hospital because if he went home he wouldn't have been able to get back to deliver me. XD
3. What kind of home did you grow up in?
Fun. We were always doing stuff, taking trips somewhere in the summer. I still live in the same home since I moved back in after Uni.
4. Did you enjoy your childhood?
Sure. The teen years not so much though (I had real teenage angst, not the fake kind that goes around so much these days, which annoys me to no end).
5. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Vet. Then I realized I wouldn't be able to handle not being able to save every animal.
6. What do you want to be now?
Writer.
7. What was your first best friend's name?
Ashley, she as my next door neighbour.
8. Is she still your friend?
Nah she moved away and we ended up growing apart.
9. Can you name all the schools you ever attended?
Elgin Street Public School, Bowmanville Senior Public, Bowmanville High School and Carleton University.
10. Were you closer to your mom or dad as a kid?
Mom.
11. What was the first record, tape or CD you remember buying?
Michael Jackson's Bad.
12. How old is a good age to have kids?
28, I guess. It's good to have some time to live your own life and enjoy it before worrying about the life of another.
13. Were you scared of anything?
Now-a-days there's not much that scars me but when I was a kid oh boy, I was afraid of everything. My two biggest fears as a kid was the witch from Disney's Snow White and the werewolf that I thought lived in our basement (I kinda always had a wild imagination)
14. What was your favourite class in elementary school?
I liked learning about animals.
15. Did you buy school lunch or bring your own?
I went home for lunch. I didn't start staying for lunch until Grade 7 and then I always brought my own since our cafeteria had burnt down in a fire years ago and they never rebuilt it.
16. Broken any bones or had any freaky accidents as a kid?
No broken bones but you know those old wooden playlands that they use to have at McDonald's before the plastic ones were brought in? I fell off the top of one that was the height of the McDs. I fell all the way to a wooden platform that was only about a few inches off the ground. Blacked out for a few seconds but I walked away from it. It happened down in GA at an exit off of I-75 (we were on our way to Florida).
That was when I was around 10. At 2, I fell down these really steep cement stairs, again walked away.
At around 8 we went to this ski hill that during the summer had a huge slide on the mountain. You go up the skilift and and then ride a sledge down it. I got about halfway down when my sledge flipped over and my face went SMACK again the (cement) slide. The sledge went off without me and I had to walk down the rest of the way.
17. Were you a mean kid?
Uhh... lets put it this way. When I was 2 1/2, my mom had to convince the Sunday School teacher to let me be in the normal Sunday School class instead of the daycare because I "didn't want to be with the babies" (the normal age you moved up was at 3). The teacher agreed and then I ended up getting in a fight with another girl over the chair that I wanted.
Oh and my first two words were "Off" and "No". My parents like to dress me in pretty dresses, which I hated.
Strangely enough I became very shy in school. I was only the real 'me' around my family.
18. Favourite board game of all time?
The Game of Life.
19. Did you play house or pretend to be a super hero?
Both.
20. Seriously, are you still just a kid at heart?
I don't wanna grow up.
