Angel Sanctuary

I started reading Angel Sanctuary last night. Years ago I had read the first few chapters but stopped since brother/sister incest really wasn't my thing back then. It still isn't, but it's no longer a major issue for me so I decided to give Angel Sanctuary another shot.

It's so good.

Rosiel/Katan gets so much love from me. I know they're both kinda fucked up and that they'll end up dying but I still think they're adorable together.

I also like Sakuya Kira. Sakuya/Setsuna would have made a better main pair than Setsuna/Sara. I don't really like the Setsuna/Sara pairing; it's not the incest thing that bugs me, it's the fact I find them so boring. The dynamics between Setsuna and Sakuya is so much more interesting since they have that whole history of Sakuya protecting Alexiel.

The incest is later explained in the series, it's so complicated.

Yeah, Kira and Setsuna have a better dynamic...but it really comes down to Kira and Alexiel's past. When you get into who Kira really is (I mean really...past him being a sword), it's rather interesting. He's one of the most complicated characters. D:

I've watched the OVA, and I liked it well enough, though Sara and Setsuna were not my favorite part. I don't like reading incest; it always bothers me. >_> But I've heard there are some awesome characters and pairings, so I'll probably at least give it a try one of these days.

The first few volumes are the worst because you get repeated bashed over the head with Setsuna and Sara's relationship. Once Sara dies it's much easier to ignore it; lately I've been able to pretend that they love each other as brother and sister instead of the other kind of love.

I dropped it around the part where Setsuna went on a certain "adventure" for Sara's sake. Maybe it was just me being too sleepy to read manga, but I started to get bored. Not good. Especially when I had quite a few horror manga in my "to read" queue.

Rosiel/Katan is definitely my favorite part of Angel Sanctuary. I love their crazy fucked up relationship. I really feel more sympathy for them than any of the other characters, particularly Setsuna (I don't like him at all).

Kira/whatever identity he's going by is pretty cool as well. I like him in the pairing he ends up in rather than with Setsuna, though.

I really don't like Setsuna either. I liked him the best when he was trapped in Alexiel's body but now I'm finish that part (I just started the part where he goes into Heaven to save Sara who's going to be put on trial).

I really like Kira/his past selves/Lucifer and Alexiel's relationship but I have no hope for a happy ending here since she is Setsuna's reincarnation.
