Wouldn't you know...
Since New Years my aunt has been in Florida with my grandmother, she comes home in a few hours. During that time, I've been driving her van pretty much every day without problems.
Until today.
Correction.
Until today, ten minutes after she calls saying she's about an hour away and is going to stop in at my grandmother's sister for a bit.
What happened is me and my mom are out (I'm driving since she doesn't) doing chores and since it's miserable out we decide to go get some hot chocolate. We pull in the driveway of the place when out of the corner of my eye on my right I see a car start to leave the drive-through. Even though I have the right of way, I stop leaving enough from for said car to snake out in front of me (because people around here are impatient fucks will shove their way through regardless of what's in their way). Only this car doesn't do that. She starts turning left and I'm thinking she's going to stop soon because I'm now blocking her way. She doesn't do that either and ends up running into my front right tire.
At first I was pissed off since HELLO BIG FUCKING VAN WITH THE RIGHT OF WAY, how could she not see me? Since my mom is closer, she gets out (while I continued to steam) and soon I hear the sobbing coming from the other driver. Because I'm a softy I start feeling bad for her. *sigh*
She finally calms down long enough to back up a bit so we can drive over to a parking space to get her insurance info. The only damage is a hole in the hubcap but since it's not our van, we couldn't really tell her to forget about it.
After the woman left, we started cracking up over pretty much everything. The woman being so freaked out, my aunt being home in a matter of hours, the fact it happened in the same spot where a month ago someone ran through the window of the store (seriously we were right in front of the window), being able to create some elaborate story of the accident for my brother, etc.
After some hot chocolate and triple chocolate cookies (we deserved the cookies after what happened!), we took the back way home to avoid anymore cars. My perfect driving record is now tainted but at least the first accident I was in wasn't my fault.
Until today.
