Samurai Deeper Kyo

Often (although not lately) I've come across arguments from homophobes that teh_ghei can't be in shounen series because the target audience is males...

Which is why I always giggle like mad when I start reading a new series and find stuff like the following:

*snerk*

As for the series itself, it's really good. Normally I don't read a lot of historical mangas (which is strange since Japanese History was one of my favourite classes in school) but so far 'Samurai Deeper Kyo' is my favourite. Lots of action and blood. I love seeing blood splattered everywhere as guys are cut in half.

Like [livejournal.com profile] elektra_alpha said it's Samurai Deeper Kyo. It's a really good series.

Mibu Kyoshiro is a travelling medicine man and is found by Shiina Yuya, a bounty hunter who mistakens him for Demon Eyes Kyo who has a reward of 1 million ryo on his head. Yuya quickly realizes her mistake but sees that there is a 100 mon reward on Kyoshiro and drags him to a nearby down for the money. While there the place gets attacked by bandits and at the point of death, Kyoshiro's eyes turn red and Demon Eyes Kyo quickly takes care of them. Realizing that Kyo lives inside Kyoshiro and comes out when there's trouble, Yuya starts tagging along on his journey.

And the English dub anime voices for both Kyoshiro and Demon Eyes are by none other than the multi-talented Dan 'Yugi/Yami' Green!!!!!

It's a total HOOT!!!! especially the outtakes (my daughter got the anime for Christmas last year -- we're still working on the manga)

Really? He certainly likes doing characters where he can do two roles! lol

I haven't seen any of the anime but the manga is so good.
