Why do I always get myself into trouble?

Everytime I swear off fic exchange contest, I'm always dragged back in somehow. I swear I have the worst luck in them. I either get a request that doesn't even cover what I said I'd do or I end up with a person who signed up but then disappeared without submitting something (I hate it when people do that because my time spent could have been on writing something for someone who didn't get one).

This time I signed up for the CLAMP exchange dimension_shop. Only picking 5 series was hard. I wish I could have picked a few more series like RG Veda or Wish (or even TRC but only have Seishirou/Subaru and Fuuma/Kamui listed as pairings for that one). Or that I remembered to put a note saying "EXTRA COOKIES IF FUUMA CROSSES OVER SOMEWHERE!"

I giggle though at the people who are signing up, listing TRC as a requested series and then saying 'no' to crossovers. They do realize that everyone in TRC, except for the odd character, is a crossover character, right? Right? ...Hello?

And god damn it I was the only one who didn't get a fic in the Bleach yuri thon. DAMN IT ALL TO HELL. I NEEDS MY YURI. :(

...why are so many of the TRC fans so stupid about CLAMP works? Half the appeal is that it's an excuse to write vampire and mafia aus. I mean, I'm not saying there isn't depth and character development, but that the fandom is so willing to disregard CLAMP in general boggles me. I mean, I'd get it more with xxxHOLIC. BUT TSUBASA? WTF.

Damn that sucks. Any exchange I've ever been apart of has had last minute replacements to throw together a fic and I have gotten one of those before. I appreciate that they went through the trouble on such short notice but you could tell they wrote it quickly at the last minute since it was poorly written and covered nothing that I wanted.

I don't know why TRC fans are so dumb. It's pretty obvious to figure out when you start reading it that it's a crossover AU (and this is coming from someone who never read CLAMP before it).

Well they had the last minute exchange stuff, but everyone but me got one. I don't really mind too much, honestly. Since there was lots of goodfic that I got to read.

I mean, before TRC the only other thing I read was CCS and Kobato, and loved them both, but the last thing I did was disregard other CLAMP series. It seems really stupid to me.

Maybe they mean no new crossovers? Because otherwise one would be slightly short on characters.

I signed up as well, though I've never done a fic exchange before. I hope I don't screw it up somehow.

I'm sure you'll be fine. I think that worrying you'll screw up is normal for these types of exchanges.
