There's a minor over on free_manga wanking about how because of LJ's adult filters she can't download yaoi.

Wow, genuis! I wonder why there would be adult filters on porn? I mean it's only illegal for minors!

Geez, in my day we were smart enough to simply lie about our ages when we had to get around age blocks. I don't know if kids today are just getting stupider or lazier.

I saw that. I hate censorship with a passion, and some stupid comments there pissed me off, but really, why the heck bother complaining when creating a fake account is so much easier?

Yup, that's my feeling as well. I think LJ is being stupid with the filters but whining about how you can't get porn because of it when you're underage is more annoying.

The amount of time it took her to write that post was probably longer than the length it would take to get around the problem.

Uhh... When I was 9 and first started using the computer, it was fucking obvious to lie about your age to use certain sites? Like, first it was lying to say I was 13, then a few years later 18, etc.

I mean, really. Lol. Let's complain about COPPA while we're at it... Arguing the "principle" of the thing is stupid. And soon soon as you are of legal age you stop caring, fast. :D

Yeah I would have thought every minor would have figured out for themselves to lie about their age instead of whining about policies. I don't think I've ever been under 18 while online.
