Gurren Lagann, again

Rossiu is such an ass. I hope he dies.

My how quickly he's forgotten he would have died 7 years ago if it wasn't for Simon.

Same goes for the people of the city. Who cares if their home gets destroyed? At least they now have a home to get destroyed instead of living underground in some cave.

Ungrateful bastards.

Lulz, I liked Rossiu. Maybe it was just a counter-reaction to 4chan's VIOLENT hatred of Rossiu... Don't worry, he gets his soon xD

Well, if I was surrounded by violent hate for him, I'd probably like him too, lol.

Or at least support him in public but then to myself wish he would die.

I kind of understood where Rossiu was coming from though. Especially when you see what was going on behind the scenes later on. He's just one of those characters that is trying hard to keep everything orderly and neat, but ends up failing because they're a bit... overzealous in that conservativeness.

Don't get me wrong, he was being a huge, raging dick, but someone has to be the 'bad guy' since honestly, if you want to establish some sort of order out of anarchy, you can't run it on pure hotblooded testosterone and asskicking alone.

I agree with you that something needed to be done to restore order, but there's a difference between simply telling the public what they want and following through with those actions.

For example, Rossiu could have easily held a public trial, found Simon guilty and then say that Simon was executed to satisfy the mob. I'm sure with all their technology they could have easily faked a convincing video of Simon being executed, while in reality, Simon would still be alive behind the scenes, helping out with the crisis. Rossiu could have even made an announcement to the public that a new pilot was found for Gurren-Lagann so that Simon could continue using it (since it is the best weapon they have, there's another of Rossiu's bonehead moves when he said he wanted it scrapped).

I realize he had to do something to restore order to Kamina City but I simply think he went completely about it the wrong way.

(and don't get me started on that stuff where he was forcing people who wanted to stay underground to the surface because I agree with Viral in that those actions were no different than the Spiral King's)

Yes, yes, that's why I said that he was a bit heavyhanded with his actions and very easily could have taken another route, but this is the way he felt was the most effective to deal with it (whether or not he thought it was right isn't as clear since I don't think he himself knew). He had to find a way to make all the people who were rioting and reacting in such an extreme manner calm down, and making Simon a scapegoat was an effective way, as shitty as it was. Sure, he probably had other options, but it's not like he did it because he hated Simon and wanted to take over the world or anything.

He did do a lot of unnecessary things, but I don't think it was out of malice or spite, he just truly felt it was for the greater good or whatever. He just has a fucked up moral system. He's not an easily likable character, but he is a good and interesting one.

You know, I should've hated Rossiu considering how much I LOVE Simon, but I just can't XD;; Even when he was being an ass, I couldn't hate him at all.

J-just keep watching /o/

I just hate his attitude so much. He really seems to have forgotten that a mer 7 years ago it was all Simon's doing that saved the human race. If it wasn't for Simon he would have stayed in that village and eventually sent out to the surface to face certain death.

The people of Kamina City are the same way. They wouldn't have had a city to live in, a home, luxuries, safety, etc if it wasn't for Simon and yet they now want to burn him at the stake.
