There seems to be a lot of... bitching... about CLAMP canon lately. Why, I don't know, it's not like CLAMP hasn't been around for ages and most of the manga that's being bitched about isn't anything new.

Did you read the manga? Seriously?

They're both fucked up and their story ends tragically. That's the beauty of their relationship.

Instead of whining to the X fandom about SeiSub being too angsty, why not instead check out the Tokyo Babylon fandom. You know, the series they came from, where except for the ending they spend the entire time being happy together.

Oh, and there's no possible way for something to be well-written if the characters are OOC.


WAH! THERE'S NOT ENOUGH YURI IN MY FANDOM!

Umm... CLAMP really isn't a group that focus on yuri too much. They probably have more male/genderless pairings than they do yuri.

Let's see...

There's Saya/Toru from X, but they're both dead before the series starts. It's rather hard to write fanfics on two characters we barely know things about.

Then there's Kendappa/Souma in RG Veda, but fanfics there are hard to find period. When there's a lack of Yasha/Ashura, there's definitely going to be a lack of Kendappa/Souma.

Kendappa/Souma are also in TRC but unless you read RG Veda or was told they're a couple from another CLAMP fan, you wouldn't know it. Besides the fandom in general has no interest in fanfics beyond KuroFay and Sakura/Syaoran. If Seishirou/Subaru and Fuuma/Kamui can't get fics written about them in TRC, there's no hope in hell for Kendappa/Souma.

Then there is also Tomoyo; who doesn't get the girl AND as the only single lesbian there's no other girl in the series to pair her up with.

And that's pretty much it. Alternate ships you say? Well, the CLAMP fandom isn't really one that is big on alternate ships as most of the fans ship canon pairings. Seriously, think of the alternate ships in the CLAMP fandom, they really don't have many fans. The only ones that are hugely popular are Doumeki/Watanuki and Kamui/Subaru both which have bases in canon. Hell, some canon pairings have a hard enough time finding fans.

Instead of whining about the lack of yuri and blaming yaoi fans for it, why not whine about the lack of alternate ships? Instead of a dog pile your responses would have been 'WORD'.

There was also asdlfkasl Tomoyo and Sakura's mother's for the yuri and Ora/Suu was pretty slashy. Though I'm not sure if Suu's feelings were actually romantic. But yeah, with how doomed most yuri ships are in canon and how often fandom ignores yuri pairings, no matter how compelling they might be, I'm not surprised. Mostly, I want the next CLAMP series to have a lesbian couple that ends up together. >:D Though TRC did help some.

ALSO PEOPLE ARE BITCHING ABOUT SEISHIORU/SUBARU BEING TOO ANGSTY? The pairing isn't like KuroFye or hell even Fuuma/Kamui that has hope. It's Doomed Doomed Doomed and it's always going to be Doomed. Because it's about how love can kill you, not about the redemptive powers of love.

Though some alt ships get plenty of love - Tomoyo/Eriol for instance. And Subaru/Kamui has its share of fics (though few readable. But neither is there much Fuuma/Kamui that's readable.)

I hate fans like that too. They squeal over how great yaoi is and as soon as you mention yuri, they think it's disgusting.

Of course they end up in the typical yuri fashion for CLAMP since Kaede dies in the years between AL and Chobits. :(

Not that I care either way, but what makes you say DouNuki is an alternate ship? *plucks through latest chapters?* I don't see Holic as a very romantic series in general, and while there's definitely not enough support to say that it's canon, it doesn't... have a canon ship, so it's not an alternate ship? XD And there is a strange amount of love for Eriol/Tomoyo. =\ Yeah, most of the shippers are insane, but there are a handful of nice people I know like it too, so.

There is some S/S and F/K fic. Not enough to call itself much attention, but there're they're and they're usually pretty good. ^^;

I was thinking in terms of it not being canon. You're right though in it's not an alternate ship since neither are in a canon relationship.

I think that yuri person was some sort of troll. I'm not exactly sure what kind, but her posts were so strange I don't think she was being completely serious. I mean all that "read my fic" "look at my art" stuff was just downright odd! I suspect what she was attempting was to make the other posters on the thread look like hypocrites by getting them to say "NO WAI! YURI = EEEWWWW!!1" but of course someone (can't remember who, sorry ladies, but it was someone I know) pointed out that she was being slightly hypocritical in saying that yaoi was baseless and had little value whilst promoting yuri, baseless or otherwise. Anyway basically what I'm saying is she/he is a s**t-stirrer, pure and simple, and her/his "opinions" probably shouldn't be taken seriosuly as they were only said to cause trouble it would seem
