Boybands
In honor of the New Kids on the Block getting back together I dug out one of my old NKOTB pillow cases (only one, the other one is too warn out). It's crazy how into them I was as a kid. A lot of shitty merchandise and a trip to Toronto to see them in concert.
There were these novels that were about fictional adventures they went on (ah the days before the Internet and fanfiction becoming commonplace!); they were so bad, lol. I found one of my old ones a few years ago when I was cleaning and just HAD to read it again. It's no wonder that ten years after my NKOTB craze, I ended up in the popslash fandom, slashing together the pretty boys of the year 2000 boybands. XD
Speaking of boybands, the latest fandom_wank entry is about a Korean boyband with 15 members! Wow, I can't imagine being into a group with 15 members, I probably wouldn't be able to learn all their names, lol (Reading the comments, I also find out that there's a Japanese girl group with 46 members! O_o ). They're actually pretty good, but man reading the wank makes it seem like their fans are crazy (seriously, causing a girl to commit suicide simply because she got her picture taken with one member?!?! That's fucked up!).
This kid is super cute though. He's doing the moonwalk while playing the violin! And he's Canadian! He needs to come home though and get away from the crazy fans.
