I just read on someone else's journal that people are speculating that that's him before he gets his full powers back.

But anyway, we all knew this movie was going to be a disaster for anyone with any love for the mangas/anime.

Speaking of Spike, he does kinda look like a vampire. Like Count Orlok from Nosferatu.
