At least it's not FOX
Apparently Universal wants to make Clover into a movie.
I'm torn. If done seriously, I think it would be an awesome movie, since I love Clover and really hope that CLAMP finishes it one day. It could make a really good scifi movie.
But Hollywood has a poor track record when it comes to movie adaptations of manga/anime. Usually they're just slapped together with poor actors, writers and director. In those cases it's better to not even make the movie at all.
I guess time will tell if it'll be another Dragonball or not.

I kinda think that Clover has a better chance than Dragonball of turning out good, though? The story is so artsy and cinematic already, whereas it's easy to see how someone would just look at Dragonball and see the fighting or w/e.
It'll be so WEIRD to see it in an American movie though.

My dream is that they'd bring in Ohkawa to write the script but I highly doubt that will happen.

Although I must admit it would be funny if a bunch of new fans entered the fandom and tried to argue that Ran and Gingetsu were "just friends". Because you know, it's perfectly normal for someone to plant a bomb in their head for their BFF.

*not to mix it up with those who ship it, cos I can see the appeal. I may enjoy myself if Tomoyo wasn't in love with Sakura in my head and heart forever.
