I hate it when a post is made to a comm and the OP decided to disable comments. Unless you're a mod, don't do it. It's unfair to the rest of the comm, especially when you're being whiny.

Everyone on LJ has their own journal, whine to your friends, make a private entry, do anything except make a no-comment entry to a comm that has 27,000 people.

I do it sometimes on fic posts because I hate it when people comment on the pimping post instead of, y'know, the actual post the fic is on.

I can understand doing it for that reason. In cases like that, you're still allowing comments, you're just trying to make sure that people comment in a specific location.

It's a little different when someone's complaining about the comm/people in the comm and not giving them a chance to respond.
