Tiger and Bunny Final
So Tiger & Bunny is now over until Season 2.
It feels like it was only yesterday when I started watching the series. That was over ten weeks ago. I wished I had watched it from the beginning instead of going "lulz, that's a stupid title", "is this a mecha series? I'm tired of mecha" and "those suits look like they were ripped-off from Iron Man". That's why you shouldn't judge things without watching (or reading) it yourself.
I really can't describe how happy I've been since I started watching the show. I feel more like my old self again. I felt fine before but life was getting to me. I feel more carefree again and it feels good.
I'm so glad Kotetsu lived. Despite being confident he was alive, I had a feeling of dread these past few days that he really was dead. All I could think about was if Kotetsu was really dead, Barnaby better die too so he and Kotetsu can be dead together (and then have a threesome with Tomoe). But that wasn't necessary.
I liked how all the Heroes had a moment to shine in this episode. Agnes too. I had a feeling that she really did see the light in the other episode but was merely pretending that she didn't.
I even liked Maverick's little 'fuck you' to Rotwang.
Speaking of Maverick, I didn't think he would wipe his own memories. I figured Lunatic would kill him before they got any information out of him.
I've seen some complaints about Barnaby and Kotetsu not keeping contact during the skipped year but I don't see it that way. It's never stated that they had zero contact during that year and I actually think that it's good Barnaby got to spend time by himself. He needed time to actually think about what happened. Everything he knew was a lie, you don't get over something like that easily. I like to think that Barnaby spent most of the year travelling around the worldafter a short vacation with Kotetsu's family and that's why he and Kotetsu didn't have much contact.
And I liked the fact that Barnaby returned to being a Hero, not for revenge, or to be someone's "perfect" Hero, but because he genuinely wanted to do it and be partners again with Kotetsu. I once read an article that stated, Barnaby never would have become a Hero if his parents hadn't been murdered so it's nice he's making his own decisions now.
Poor Blue Rose, it looked like she was on her way to becoming King of Heroes but that probably won't happen now that Barnaby is back.
I can't say I was disappointed with any part of the episode. A part of me would have liked Kotetsu's and Barnaby's return to have been put off until Season 2 but at the same time I can't deny how happy I was to see them back together in the final scene.
I'm looking forward to Season 2. I want to learn more about Ouroboros and I want Lunatic and the other Heroes to get more development (I want it to be revealed to the other Heroes that Lunatic is a high ranking Sternbild judge). I imagine that Kotetsu's powers will also be dealt with. Just by having Barnaby back as his partner means he'll be upgraded from the Second League (I can't see Barnaby agreeing to be a Hero without Kotetsu and Barnaby's too good to be stuck capturing minor criminals), but that one minute time limit is probably going to be an issue (if Good Luck Mode doesn't return in Season 2, I will cry).
Kotetsu and Barnaby were totally giving each other "Fuck me"/"I want to fuck you" looks throughout half the episode. I just wanted to throw that in there.
