Zoo Pictures - Round 3

Well...my Internet is still funky (which was why I wasn't at chat) but I remembered I still had some photos uploaded from the zoo that I hadn't posted yet.

Not much to comment here. The male was in an area behind glass (most of the pens have a glass section allowing you to get a closer look at the animals but it makes for crappy pictures) so he was hard to take.

Here's the more elephant pictures I had been promising. Hehe, they reminded me of Shak's fic since their kid in it liked elephants. Really, it's amazing how little things make me think of Seto and Yami. ^^

I think this is the only time the hippo got up all day. Most of the time he was way in the back *points to where those bars are in the background* sleeping.

This is the lone zebra we got to see. The main zebra pen is being redone (as is the Africian Rhino so there's no pics of him either). The female zebras were in the back somewhere and this lone male was in another pen.

Not much to say here except that this is the start of the section of animals that can be found in Canada (and probably most of the US). Most of these animals were either far away or were proving they really were Canadian by being extremely lazy (ie, they were sleeping). This lone Musk Ox (they use to have more, don't know what happened to the others) was in the far away category.

The Cougar was sleeping...a lot. For the Canadian area (the zoo is separated into 5 sections) you have to walk down a huge hill and then back up it so you have to pass the cougar twice whether you like it or not. On our way back up the hill the cougar briefly lifted his head which is how I got the second shot. He then immediately lowered it again. -_-

Grizzly Bears. The one was badly shedding, which is why he looks so werid. The other I don't think was quite as bad but of course he never moved so I can't be for sure.

Baby swans. Not apart of the zoo but they were so cute so I have to share . They were still in their nest so they weren't very old. Plus they were really tiny.

The moose...grr...he would be the 2nd hardest animal to take a picture of (the hardest being the clouded leopard, which will not be in this group of pics since that's one I still haven't uploaded). Not only was he way in the back but he was also sleeping. In the end I went way to the edge of his cage (that pole on the right is as far as you can go), hopped up onto a bench they had there and tried shooting through the fence.

The Wolves were all sleeping as you can see (I'll be going back to the other zoo sometime this summer and get good pics of wolves then and share them). The wolves are actually lucky to still be a part of the zoo; see...10+ years ago some teenagers decided to break into the zoo at night, the place where pulled off their "master plan" was the wolves pen and thus they were attacked and one of them lost an arm. His parents ended up sueing the zoo because even though their son was the one breaking the law they thought it was the zoo's fault. I can't remember what happened with the case since I was just a kid at the time but as you can see the wolves are still there.

Buffalo. Not much else to say except I know I have a kick-ass zoom now after taking their picture.

Okay, I lied. Screw the moose, these lynx were the 2nd hardest animal to take a picture of. Like the cougar they are on the hill so you *have* to past them twice. Both times I tried getting pictures of them and this is the ONE picture that remotely turned out and it's pretty damn sucky compared to the others.

A sloth. I think the flash bugged him since he was asleep for the first picture I got then he woke up, which is when I got this second one. Sorry Mr. Sloth but there were no signs up saying no flash. Oh this also begins the "Americans" section.

Some type of monkey that was in with the sloth.

Another type of monkey (not in with the sloth).

Another type of monkey. I really don't think this guy liked me but he jumped onto the bars of his own free will so it's his own damn fault.

Yet another type of monkey.

And that ends it for now, since the only other pics I have uploaded are crap. Hopefully things work out so I can complete them soon. I don't think there's *too* much left since I was getting worried I wouldn't have enough room on the memory card. ^__^;;

Polar Bears, Jagulars, Tigers and the pride and joy of Canada, the Beaver, will be with the next lot, which will probably be the last one.

Yay more pictures! Finally we get to see the elephants from the front, lol. The wolves are really pretty, too; haven't seen many white ones like that.

At least the hippo didn't make you think of Seto and Yami O_o

I see why you are so lazy now... look at all those lazy, sleeping critters!

Damn. When you mentioned of Seto and Yami at elephants pics, I think of slang word in my language.

Well other than banana that is slang of cock, there is little elephant also slang of dick too.

Miko's comment make me think of his lastname...
Kaiba = Hippo :p

Love the pics hehehe.
