Since When is a Fanfiction Site Considered a Charity?

Pepsi Refresh Project is a place where each month people are able to post information on their cause and through a vote the winners will receive a grant.

Nice idea as there are plenty of causes out there that could use that money. Be it saving the lives of animals or providing care and activities for low income children and helping adults with disabilities.

There's just one little problem in that a Harry Potter site called FictionAlley thinks that they deserve $25K. Yes, apparently fanfiction is more important then legit charities, even though there are plenty of websites online that house fanfiction.

I'm really disgusted by the fact that they're trying to take money away from causes that really could use the money. I encourage everyone to go to the Refresh Project site and vote for anything that is not FA (I voted for all animal related causes). You get 10 votes per day and you have to sign up but that only takes a few seconds.

I would submit that this fic (http://www.lop.shoesforindustry.net/) is also a good thing.

Oh hai, surprise Eroica icon!

Ridiculous. I spent a good bit of time on that site a few years back and still have fond memories, but I don't know why they think anyone other than their current fans (if they have any) should be paying for their server.
