Apparently xxxHolic might be ending in February. I'm not sure how I feel about the news. To tell the truth, Holic hasn't interested me much in the last few months. All it is anymore is Watanuki and Doumeki sitting around and drinking.
Even though it made sense, I don't think CLAMP ever should have made it so that Watanuki was unable to leave the shop. When that happened it really limited what they could do with him.
It doesn't help that Himawari hasn't had an appearance since before Yuuko died (not even to show what she looks like as an adult and no, those two phone calls don't count). Such a great part of Holic was the interactions between Watanuki, Doumeki and Himawari and that was lost since she's no longer around. The decision to write Himawari out of the story would be like JKR deciding that DH didn't need Hermione in it.
For a while Holic was my favourite CLAMP series that they were currently working on. But now I look more forward to new chapters of Kobato and Gate 7. I think I'll be sad though when Holic finally ends. It played an important role in me becoming involved in the CLAMP fandom.

Holic hasn't really interested me since Watanuki was locked up in the store. Now he just sits in there and occasionally CLAMP throws in some supernatural problem he can solve with his mad magic skillz. I miss Himawari and I miss Watanuki spazzing because of her and Doumeki. I also miss Doumeki's snarkiness; it hasn't been the same either.
I wonder how the series will end? A reborn Yuuko would be the obvious answer, I guess. If she ends up being Himawari's daughter and that the only reason we'll see Himawari, I don't know whether to laugh, cry or scream...
