teh gay

Riiight when I started watching PoT (aka last week) I read a huge essay on it where one of the sections was titled "EVERYONE IS GAY!" At the time I laughed, figuring it was just a yaoi fangirl exaggerating on things; oh how wrong was I. Because it's true! They're all gay! Any other shounen series that has slashy subtext doesn't have a thing on Tenipuri when it comes to sparkly pink, rainbows and fluffy bunnies.

On the manga side of things, I'm at the quarterfinals of the Nationals (at least I think it's the quarterfinals; it's their game against Hyotei). The Golden Pair are currently up. I had to take a break since my brain turned to mush after all the Tezuka goodness in the prior match.

Anime wise I'm "officially" at their game against Yamabuki (Golden Pair just won their match) but because I've seen all the tournaments already in the manga I've been doing some bouncing around and watched some of the filler eps. Those filler eps crack me up (despite the lack of Tezuka in most of them). I've seen the odd "serious" filler ep as well, like the ones where they went to Germany to visit Tezuka, Tezuka's return, the Tezuka/Fuji game near the end (have you gotten an idea to who my fav character yet? lol).

Wifey, I've put up more volumes of LM for you.

And finally, I totally didn't realize that yesterday was Friday and thus missed chat night. At around 2am I started thinking "wasn't there something I was suppose to do tonight?" I clued in not long after that but figured it was already too late to log on.

That would be Tezuka's boyfriend Fuji. I don't think there's any doubt that he's gay. ^_~

I thought the way you did in the beginning and honestly I still think the best eps are ones that don't have a lot of tennis in it but it gets so cracktastic at times, I can't help but love it.

Lol. Crack is always good. ^_~ Is it a funny show, then? I always thought it'd be one of those "Oh no, he's not going to win! Wait, he's making a miraculous recovery! Yay, he won and taught the bad guy a lesson while he was at it!" sort of series. *cough* kinda like YGO... *creeps away*

lol, well there is some of that going on. :P

The tennis matches are either that way (but unlike YGO they actually could lose), the opponent gets crushed within a few minutes or the opponent gets toyed with for most of the match thinking he's going to win and then he gets crushed within a few minutes (this happens a lot early on until they get to harder opponents, hehe).

I actually do see some similarities between PoT and YGO. For one both have a cocky main character who knows he's the best there is and likes to taunt opponents, lol. And they both centre around a type of game. But like I said there's no guarantee that they'll win each time int PoT since it's a team sport and they have to face in 5 matches per game (2 doubles matches and 3 singles). Plus they aren't the school that comes out of no where, which no one expects to win, with one goal of proving everyone wrong (ie the normal type of schools you get with sport shows/movies/whatever) because you just know schools like that are always going to win.

And I find it hilarious, especially the filler eps. I know with most series, filler eps are 'meh' but not with Tenipuri.
