Halloween Movies

Halloween is upon us in two days so I decided to list some of my favourite movies for the season. ^__^

Scariest Movie - Audition
A Japanese movie by Takashi Miike and lets just put it this way...four years of Film Studies, watching multiple movies each day and this is the only movie that I ever saw a fellow film student faint during the worst part. Starts off kinda slow and for a while I forgot I was watching a horror movie but oh god just thinking about it gives me shivers.

Gore Factor - Ichi the Killer
Another Miike film. Gross movie and I heard there's an anime that's worst.

Monster Mash - Dracula and Frankenstein
I'm talking about the old-old ones from the 30s. The ones from the 50s/60s are okay but stay away from anything more recent. Any of the monster movies from the 30s are good but I just prefer Dracula and Frankenstein as my monsters of choice.

Blood Sucker - Nosferatu (1922)
The best vampire movie period and one of my favourite movies. I have nothing more to say.

Silent - The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
The expressionist style of the movie is just so cool. And there's a huge twist ending, which even I didn't see coming (and I can usually figure out the twists).

Slasher - Halloween
The first two are really good but sequels are probably the worst for the slasher series movies.

Musical - The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Best if viewed at the theatre at a showing of it but still fun at home.

Comedy - Young Frankenstein
Hilarious! Gene Wilder is great in this and it's just a bunch of silly fun.

American scary movies never scare me either. Some of the Japanese ones though...*shudders*

As for Rocky Horror, I swear people either love it or hate it, lol.
