(Oh yes, I'm totally over Syaoran too. Also, I'm not sure I entirely trust the spoilers (since when does CLAMP ever give up something that big?) but I'm definitely excited to find out if it's true.)

My theory is since it was at their New Years thing they were drunk and let stuff slip. :P

It's not that much of a spoiler though so I guess that's why. I mean we know that Ashura-ou would eventually wake up and it seemed likely that they would eventually go to Celes. Plus a few months ago Ohkawa said she had started working on Fay's past (picking out the music she would listen to when writing it) so it seemed then that it would soon be coming up.
