Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

Lately I've been reading Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. It's about a girl (Yako) who after her father is murdered she meets a mystery/puzzle eating demon (Neuro). After solving the mystery of her father's murder, Neuro forces her to become a private detective where he works as her "assistant" so he'd have more mysteries/puzzles to feed on.

I should probably hate Neuro for the way he treats his slave Yako (always abusing her for the sake of comedy) but I can't since he treats male characters the same way. Plus he does care for her, I just wish we saw more of him caring about her.

Yako herself is pretty awesome. She's such a fun character. I want to hug her and give her huge amounts of food.

Unrelated: I really wish yuletide would start up. Last year it started by now and even on the schedule it says that the fandom nominations are suppose to happen during the 3rd/4th week of September but we're already onto the fourth week. :\

No, I don't want him to be nice to Yako. He's too funny just the way he is, pindot eyes and "you won't do that for me?" and all ^^ We've taken to calling him "Crazy Uncle Neuro" in case I ever feel inclined to write in an insane uncle for Yugi (you know, he has opposite hair to Yugi's...)

Oh I definitely don't want him to be completely nice to Yako (because that would take away all the fun). I just felt like it seemed such a long time between the HAL stuff and when she was kidnapped by X.

Hehe, 'Crazy Uncle Neuro' certainly fits. Write that insane uncle for Yugi fic!

The thing I like with the series is there's really a sense of everything being tied together. So like the entire thing with HAL spans all the way from the onsen all the way to X and beyond. And there's hints of the new bloodline even back in the Statue of My Final Self case / storyline.

BTW, if you ever watch the anime, the final few episodes are the strangest crack ever.
