Lately it seems that there has been an increase of gay men bitching about yaoi/bl saying that it's not realistic enough.
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but when has porn ever been realistic? I still remember the first porn video I saw, it was about this chick who had to enter this fantasy world and who had to save it by having a lot of sex with both men and women. Doesn't sound realistic to me. In fact it was pretty damn phony.
Does this mean it's okay for men to have unrealistic porn but not women?
And I get that there are a lot of problems with yaoi. Most yaoi I read are crap. I usually get a few pages in before deciding to try another one. It's especially hard finding stuff since I like dominate (and willing) ukes instead of ones who look like they're going to break in half if the seme thrusts too hard. But I just move on when I find something that I don't like. Yeah there's bad yaoi out there but there's some good ones as well.
